Post subject: | Port Luskan Posting Rules |
These posting rules are guidelines intended to help us achieve our goals as a role play group, and to enjoy our time spent together on this forum. Please read them and follow them to the best of your ability. 1. The forums are designed to facilitate the Port Luskan role play, while allowing us some opportunities to socialize. Therefore, the forum is divided into three areas: Port Luskan Docks, for administrative and other out of character (OOC) matters relating to the forum and website; Port Luskan RP, for the role play proper; and Port Luskan OOC, for introductions of players and characters, discussion of the role play from the players' perspective, and general socializing and conversation about matters which are totally off topic. 2. Please keep posts in the story forums (Port Luskan RP) as IC as possible. Please keep OOC discussions and topics in the OOC forums. 3. Although registrations are validated and the board is closed to outside (guest) posting, we have no control over who reads the forum. Please anticipate an audience which may include minors. We are not using automatic word censorship, so we ask you to be mindful of your language, especially in the off topic areas. 4. Posts which are deliberately intended to incite or inflame other posters (flaming, trolling) will NOT be tolerated. Always assume good intent on the part of your fellow posters. If you have an issue with a particular post, there is a mechanism in place (the "report" icon) to report it to a moderator; the moderator will then handle the matter. 5. Please remember that although some IC posts may appear to violate some of these rules, the poster is a player like you are, and not their character. Keep IC and OOC separate! 6. If you are new to Port Luskan, or are introducing a new character, please speak with a GM before posting in the IC area. As always, all characters must be approved before joining the RP. 6. Although in general we try to avoid "roll-backs" of the RP, there may be times when a GM determines that a particular role play simply will not work with our established story line. If a roll-back is declared, depending on the extent and nature of the posts, we may either post a "roll-back" summary, remove the posts in question, or if necessary, lock or delete the thread containing the material to be removed from the RP. We will attempt to speak with all forum members whose posts may be affected before taking any permanent measures (such as deleting posts), but cannot guarantee advance notification if a roll-back is required. 7. We encourage all forum members to keep their own back-up copies of their posts. Although the forum will be backed up on a regular basis, and every effort will be made to preserve the story we are telling together, we cannot guarantee that individual posts will be restored in the event of a catastrophe. |
